Congratulations to John Lowrey who is our Member of the Month for August 2016. John was a founding Momentum member having joined our Dundas location in 2011. Since that time, John has supported Momentum through personal training, group training and regular attendance at the Dundas location.
John has always been a huge Momentum promoter and attends regularly with his partner Kathy and his daughter Sarah when she visits from out of town. Recently, John has been a mainstay at Frid Street classes and has lost over 45 pounds from consistent workouts and eating healthy.
We asked John a few questions to gain more insight about his Momentum experience and how being a member has impacted him.

How has Momentum helped you?
JL
Craig, Brian and all of the staff at Momentum have been there to support my wife and I in working toward our goals. After a while we were getting a little stale and less committed to working out. That’s when the Frid Street classes came to our attention. Since becoming a regular in these classes I feel that I am in better shape than I have been in many years as well as having lost 45 pounds in the process.

Do you have any goals that you have accomplished that you would like to share with our community?
JL
When my wife and I joined we were looking for a gym to get back into better condition and lose weight. But I think as you get older it is easier to give yourself permission to slack off and not work as hard as you might when you are younger. I don’t want to get into that pattern. Maintaining a good fitness regime for me now at 68 will help me remain active and healthy for lots of years to come.
We are so proud of John and his commitment to living a healthy, active life.
